Artistic Swimming
Schedule
Artistic Swimming will be offered in a 5-week session at OHAC Pool thats leads up to a big show at the end of the season! You don't need to be an OHAC member OR have any experience to join - all are welcome.
Artistic Swimming practices will take place between July 20- August 25 on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 9-10:30am.
Artistic Swimming Showcase
OHAC will host an end-of-season artistic swimming showcase on August 25 at 7pm for our swimmers to show off their skills. Participation is optional but encouraged! Our coaches will choreograph a program that fits your swimmer's level. All OHAC members, neighbors, and friends are invited to join us for this community event.
FAQs
How old does my child need to be to participate? All ages are welcome, but your child should be able to pass the deep end test (i.e. swim a length of the pool and tread water for a minute) and be able to follow musical cues
My child has never done artistic swimming before, can they still participate? Yes! All levels are welcome. We tailor our classes to the participant and will meet them where they're at.
What's your cancellation policy? We make every effort to hold practices at the scheduled times, however there are occasionally events outside of our control that force us to cancel classes, including but not limited to weather, pool mechanical failure, air quality, and instructor availability. We do not offer refunds for weather-related cancellations or for students who are not able to attend the full session.

Stephanie Dionne - Head Coach, OHAC Artistic Swimming
I’ve coached everyone from first-timers doing their first back float to national competitors
in full glitter and nose clips—and what I know for sure is this: artistic swimming is for
everyone! Whether you’re seven or seventy, brand new or diving back in, if you love
water and music and want to be part of something joyful, you belong in synchro.
I spent over a decade coaching the University of Michigan Varsity Club team and the
nationally ranked Ann Arbor Aquarians. Now I’m back on deck with OHAC, building a
program that’s equal parts community, creativity, and just the right amount of fun for
everyone. Join us!
Laura Ganzel - Assistant Coach, OHAC Artistic Swimming
I started my synchro journey at OHAC when I was 8 years old. I transitioned to coaching
the team at around 16 years old and did so for the next 7 years. Since then I've coached
at Clague Middle School, Huron High School, and the Ann Arbor YMCA. I currently
coach at the University of Michigan, and compete with the Michigan Synchro Masters. I
love this sport and I'm so happy to be back where I started!
